The Corby Town Table Tennis Club Annual Closed Tournament took place over the two evenings of 27th, 28th April 2106.

This year we introduced the Barratt Homes Junior tournament to our schedule and this was contested by 15 of our junior members.  The tournament was played as three groups of five players with the top two from each group qualifying for the knock out stages. The eventual final saw Lewis Hillery play George Toseland, the two had previously been in the same group and the contest had been close. Lewis took the final in two straight sets but some excellent table tennis was played.

The Handicap Tournament was open to all of our members and we had 3 juniors and 9 seniors play for the title. Four groups of three with the winner of each group proceeding to through to the knock out stages. Ken Knott (second division) finished off a very successful first season at the club with a thrilling deciding set victory over Kyle Murie (premier division). Ken came from 13-17 behind in the final set to win 22-20.

The Senior Trophy was contested by ten club members.  The format saw two groups of five with the top two in each group going through to the knock out stage. The semi finals saw Kyle Murie and Chris Robertson play their respective league team captains Chris Haynes and Henry Arthur.  Both Captains stamped their authority over their team mates to set up the final.  Henry Arthur played a far superior game of table tennis to beat Chris Haynes in 4 sets and reclaim the title for the third year in a row.
